Bridget Pieper
Assistant and Lead Trainer

Bridget is a
graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with majors in
Psychology and Zoology so her focus was on animal behavior. She
is currently working as an Associate Research
Specialist with Cotton-Top Tamarins. She hopes to go to graduate
school for a Master's Degree in Biology, Zoology, or Psychology, to
further stud animal behavior. Bridget has worked as a
volunteer at the Eau Claire County Humane Society, as Kennel Staff for
a local Veterinary Clinic, and as a Research Assistant in a behavior
lab. Bridget currently volunteers at the Dane County Humane
Society and helps with pre-adoptable dogs on their behavior issues.
She has also volunteered with the education program at the Henry Vilas
Zoo, handling exotic animals and giving presentations to elementary
school students and nursing home patients. Bridget has owned
and cared for dogs, parakeets, and fish but she has found her biggest
challenge with her current dog, an English Springer Spaniel mix named
Kya. Kya's challenges have taught her a lot about training and
behavior while advancing her handling skills. Her past and
present animal experience continually adds to her ability to relate to
and help owners in classes. Bridget loves advancing her knowledge of dog and animal behavior
through her work with Teacher’s Pet - and of course loves the animal
contact in classes!
